Slava Akmaev, BERG’s Chief Analytics Officer, speaks about artificial intelligence in biopharmaceutical research and development at The British Library in London on Sept. 14, 2017. The talk will focus on practical applications of Bayesian Artificial Intelligence in drug discovery and clinical development. The AI-informed discovery process provides an unbiased alternative approach to the more traditional expert-guided process that struggles to “productize” the volumes of disparate molecular and clinical data. BERG Interrogative Biology is an example of a data-driven, hypothesis-free technology that has been utilized in the formation from square one of a rich pharmaceutical pipeline in multiple disease areas. Case studies in neurodegeneration and oncology will be discussed.
